Songkran is the traditional New Year Day of several South East Asia countries including Thailand, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar which usually be in the middle of April based on the calendar of the Sun. Beside traditional religious practices, the main activity is people throwing fresh water into each others to clear away bad luck and wish for a year filled with good luck. This series present the celebration in Bangkok, Thailand. Beside throwing water, people also use white powder with water as a little ‘blessing’ to their friends. The giant crowd mixes of local Thai people and tourists from a round the world splashing water, putting white powder into each others, dancing and partying under sunny 35 C degrees temperature made an hard-to-miss event.
